MPS Nationals at OSW Canceled Due to COVID-19 Pandemic
Man Cup, together with Orlando Speed World, confirming this morning to cancel the season-opening MPS Nationals due to the COVID-19 pandemic. “Tough day yesterday” stated Man Cup Principal Jay Regan. “Just no way around it, these are very, very unprecedented times for all of us. I was hoping for signs of stabilization, or better yet, a decline in new virus cases, but sadly that is not the reality. Add in the continued closings of businesses across the country and this really just became a matter of trying to take care of our Man Cup racers by removing the MPS Nationals from their plate moving forward”.
“Absolutely the last thing I wanted to see out of the MPS Nationals, heck I was wanting to showcase Orlando Speed World, the home track of MPS Racing” added MPS owner and event sponsor Dan Rudd. “as much as we don’t like it, this is 100% the right call for the racing community right now”.
Having come off a spectacular Doorslammer Nationals where records were set in both Pro Stock and Pro Mod, OSW was anxious to showcase their top-notch facility to Man Cup racers for the first time ever. “Ozzy (Moya) and I decided it in the best interest to close the OSW facility to events in the short term in hopes things will improve on the virus front” concluded OSW operations manager and track-prep guru Wade Rich.
Man Cup now looks forward to the MTC Nationals at the ever-familiar South Georgia Motorsports Park across the weekend of May 1st – 3rd. stay tuned to the Man Cup website, social media pages or at Dragbike.com across the coming week’s time for event updates.
